What to prepare before calling

Relationship to the veteran, county, main need, safe contact method, appointment or deadline information and whether VA care or benefits are already involved.

Common mistakes

  • Trying to solve a medical issue through a non-medical website.
  • Sending medical records before an official office asks for them.
  • Assuming caregiver programs have the same eligibility rules for every family.

Safety and privacy note

Vols4Vets is not a medical provider. Do not send medical records, Social Security numbers, claim numbers, DD214s, legal papers, passwords or private case details to Vols4Vets.
